Soloist-bassoonist, chamber musician, teacher, conductor and cultural manager. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Łódź (diploma with honors in 1984), associated with the Academy of Music in Łódź since 1986 and with the Łódź Philharmonic in 1987. As a soloist, chamber musician and conductor, he performs throughout the country, including Germany, France and the Netherlands, Slovakia, Ukraine, Spain and China. He performed the Polish premieres of concertos by J.Francaix, A. Jolivet, J.N.Hummel and Divertimenta J.Francaix. Founder of several chamber ensembles still operating today: P Polish Modern Orchestra, Wind 5 Quintet and the Camerata pro Arte chamber orchestra, of which he is the conductor and artistic director. Since the formation of the band, he has performed with it many times and recorded two CDs: “Muzyka w Starym Klasztorze” and “Con Corno” with horn player Dariusz Mikulski for the German label ZYX Classic. In 2002, he toured Germany as a conductor with the Lodz Philharmonic Orchestra, and also conducted numerous orchestras of the Lublin Philharmonic, the Sudeten Philharmonic, the Lodz Philharmonic and the Cherniovtsy Philharmonic in Ukraine, as well as the Wiena Royal Artists Orchestra and the Amber Youth Orchestra. On December 31, 2009 and December 31, 2019, he hosted the prestigious “New Year’s Eve Gala” in Berlin. In his achievements, prof. Krzysztof Kamiński has 167 symphony concerts, which he conducted over the last 30 years, as well as 192 performances of solo concerts (a unique performance on a global scale in the case of playing the bassoon) with the accompaniment of the Łódź Philharmonic orchestras. A. Rubinstein, the Lublin Philharmonic, the Kalisz Philharmonic, the Sudeten Philharmonic, the Toruń Chamber Orchestra, the Słupsk Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony and Chamber Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Łódź and the Rubinstein Sinfonietta.
As a bassoonist-soloist, he has recorded several albums, including: “Come Prima” with bassoon sonatas for bassoon and harpsichord, “Classical bassoon concertos”, “Contemporary Bassoon Music of Łódź Composers”, “Chamber Music in the Works of 20th Century French Composers”. His achievements include 551 chamber concerts, as well as the compositions “Memories of Octandre” (1984) and music for the play “Pink Uncle” (1999). He has won awards at international music competitions in London, Odessa and Łódź. In 2021, together with his wife Beata Tarnowicz-Kamińska, he won the main prize – the Musical Eagle in the first edition of the International Competition “Musical Eagles” in the premiere category. Professor Kamiński is a juror of national and international music competitions, serving as jury chairman many times, and conducts master classes in bassoon playing and chamber music (in Beijing, Berlin, Lviv, Cherniovtsy, Gdańsk, Szczecin, Toruń and Łódź).
